Dialysis Department

Dialysis, a life-sustaining treatment, mimics kidney functions for individuals with renal failure. It involves removing toxins and excess fluids from the blood artificially. Two main types exist: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Hemodialysis employs a machine to filter blood outside the body, while peritoneal dialysis uses the body’s peritoneal membrane as a filter. Dialysis necessitates regular sessions, typically several times a week, for patients to maintain proper fluid and electrolyte balance, ensuring their overall well-being despite compromised kidney function.
